Wasted by Rhiannon Tise was a newly developed theatre
in education programme commissioned by Greenwich Drug
Education Team to contribute to the overall strategy
of drugs education for young people (Key stages 3 &
4) in the borough.
Wasted explores the issue of ‘binge drinking’
through its characters Jimi and Kylie. It is an interactive
piece which has workshops integrated throughout the
drama. As well as binge drinking, the workshops also
deal with cannabis and its legalisation alongside other
areas of drugs education.
The workshops are facilitated by an, ‘in role’
D.J. character, Marki D. while the audience are put
into role as Marki D’s live studio audience. The
interactive sections include discussion, practical games
and exercises and questions, which can also be asked
through SMS text messaging.
